Dynamic, engaging and inspiring
Kirra was dynamic, engaging and inspiring, delivering messages that resonated with all in our school community. The greatest strength is in the conversations that followed. The staff room was abuzz from the very next morning, even our Social Media sceptics were converts!
I highly recommend Safe on Social to your students, staff and parents. It will transform your community
Interactive and engaging
We’ve recently had Kirra work across our system with school leaders and her comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the field has been of huge benefit to our staff to help better tailor the support we’re providing to students and families.
The presentations were interactive and engaging and has enabled us to deliver high quality professional learning across our whole organisation.
It was the best meeting I ever arranged
Like all schools we struggled in keeping up with a rapidly changing world. There was a growing disconnect between what we as staff and parents understood about online platforms and what the students actually did. Our problems were exacerbated by a core of staff who also believed that they knew how to use social media. That was when I contacted Kirra at Safe on Social Media. It was the best meeting I ever arranged. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough and that recommendation is supported by the most amazing feedback from students, staff and our community
Meet The Expert
Over the past 7 years, Kirra Pendergast has spoken to over 400,000 students, trained over 10,000 teachers about online safety and has worked with more than 500 schools across Australia and New Zealand.
Her career in Cyber Security and IT Business Consulting spans 20+ years and in 2014 she founded Safe on Social Media Pty Ltd after experiencing serious and relentless cyberbullying and trolling herself.
In 2019 she proudly partnered with Mamamia to co-create the Safe on Social - Parents Toolkit and most recently the Safe on Social - Schools Toolkit. Together both Mamamia and Safe on Social Media, are deeply committed to helping educate schools on how to help keep their students safe online.
Is the training inside the Safe on Social Schools Toolkit mapped to the national curriculum?

We’re a combined school...is this resource just for high school level students?
We offer a matrix package and pricing system, depending on your student age groups and school need. You can purchase: Primary, Secondary or Combined (K-12) packages designed with separate age appropriate training.
What if our teaching staff have questions or a situation arises...what type of support is provided?
Information within the toolkit is updated regularly so you have access to the most timely resources available and we provide full email support for specific or confidential questions arising within your school.
I don’t have lots of time outside of the classroom to research and prepare lessons….how much prep work is required to teach Safe on Social?
We’ve done the hard work for you! Inside the toolkit platform you’ll find complete lesson plans ready for you along with easy to follow instructions, classroom activities and discussions.
When does the material need to be taught - is there a specific timeframe?
We believe online safety should be a year around conversation. The toolkit provides your school access to the relevant resources 24/7 so your staff can implement teachings when it best suits your school needs or when you need to respond to urgent issues quickly. Staff can revisit the material as needed to refresh learnings or to help facilitate classroom discussions.
